2 Years ago, I started SBL with 2 Nurse friends of mind. Life started changing and so did our individual directions and that of our newly started company. We all had the desire to make a difference and fill a need in our community with people needing help transitioning from home assisted living and everything in between. The concept seemed so simple and very much a need. The ability to get it going however was more of a challenge. I really don't want to bring up covid in my 1st blog post, but that did start the change for us. Our partner Lindsey left 1st to continue with the changes in being a young family starting out. Then over the last while my other partner Shalene had gotten involved in another career and has been more of my "silent" partner.
I tell you this to you to assure you that I have been through all kinds of transitions from giving a baby up for adoption when I was 18, moving to the USA for 20 years, to moving from being a big city girl by the ocean to a farmers wife on the Prairies. I have assisted with family moving off the farm to assisted living, then to a dementia ward. I have been with the dying, from premature babies to the elderly.
I seek change, I seek growth and my passion is to help others with living life that they will have no regrets living.... or dying.
You will find on this blog honesty, sincerity, emotions and the hope that in some way I can encourage you to live a life that makes you passionate for being here. I welcome your comments, questions and would love to share in your experiences.
